About Our Compliance Process

Because we deal in high-performance firearms, all rifle purchases must be shipped to a holder of a Federal Firearms License (FFL). This is a legal requirement designed to ensure the safety and security of the shooting community while maintaining the integrity of the second amendment.
How the FFL Process Works
Federal law prohibits the direct shipment of firearms to individuals. Instead, your firearm will be shipped to a licensed dealer in your area, who will perform the necessary background checks and legally transfer the firearm to you. This ensures that every transaction through Tikka Rifles USA meets the highest standards of legal compliance.
Step 1: Select Your Rifle
Choose your precision Tikka rifle from our extensive inventory. During the checkout process, you will be prompted to provide the information for your local FFL dealer. If you do not have a dealer in mind yet, you can complete your purchase and contact our team later with the dealer’s details once you have made arrangements.
Step 2: Coordinate the Transfer
Contact your chosen local dealer to notify them of the incoming transfer from Tikka Rifles USA. Most dealers charge a small fee (typically $25–$50) for this service, which is paid directly to them upon pickup. Ensure they send a copy of their valid, signed FFL license to our compliance team at info@tikkariflesusa.com. Please ask them to include your order number in the subject line for faster processing.
Step 3: Shipping & Tracking
Once we have a verified copy of your dealer’s FFL, our warehouse team will securely pack and ship your firearm. We use specialized, discreet packaging and reliable carriers to ensure your precision instrument arrives in perfect condition. You will receive a tracking number via email so you can monitor the progress of your shipment to the dealer’s place of business.
Step 4: Background Check & Pickup
When the firearm arrives at your local dealer, you will visit their location to complete the ATF Form 4473 and undergo a NICS background check. Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID with your current address. Once approved, you can take your new Tikka home.
Shipping Rates & Times
We pride ourselves on having some of the fastest processing times in the industry. Most in-stock items ship within 2–3 business days of receiving the required FFL documentation.
Handguns: Must ship via 2nd Day Air (UPS or FedEx) per carrier safety regulations.
Long Guns: Shipped via Ground service (UPS, FedEx, or USPS) with adult signature required.
Accessories: All non-firearm items like magazines, optics, rails, and stocks can be shipped directly to your home address without an FFL.
Important Compliance & Legal Notes
State Restrictions: It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the firearm and magazine capacity they are purchasing is legal in their specific state and municipality. We strictly follow all state-level restrictions. If you are ordering from states with complex laws (e.g., California, New York, Illinois), please verify compliance with your local dealer before finalizing your order.
Inspection Period: Upon arrival at your FFL, please inspect your firearm thoroughly before signing any transfer paperwork. Once the transfer is legally complete, the firearm is considered “used,” and any functional or cosmetic issues must be handled through the manufacturer’s warranty process.
Age Requirements: Per federal law, you must be 18 or older to purchase a long gun (rifle or shotgun) and 21 or older to purchase a handgun or lower receiver.
Local Pickup in Kearney, NE
For our local customers in Nebraska, we offer convenient in-person pickups at our facility located at 2915 Marshall Avenue, Kearney, NE 68847. If you choose local pickup, please select the “Local Pickup” option during the checkout process on the Tikka Rifles USA Home Page. You will still be required to complete all federal background check requirements (Form 4473) on-site before taking possession of your firearm.
